Savannah River Mission Completion is seeking a Senior Construction Quality Control Engineer II to be based in Aiken, SC on the Savannah River Site. The role leads QC inspections, coordinates with teams, and ensures compliance with codes and contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science or equivalent with related QA/QC/engineering experience.
• Alternative: non-technical degree with relevant QA/QC/engineering experience.
• Associate's degree with relevant QA/QC/engineering experience.
• High School Diploma/GED with related experience.
• Certification with continuing technical training required for inspections; specialized training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Directs personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results.
• Reviews design output documents to establish inspection requirements in QA procedures, construction plans, and/or work packages.
• Coordinates with internal and external sources to resolve quality issues and provide status of inspection/test activities to stakeholders.
• Reviews technical criteria, personnel qualifications and work sequence on work packages including hold points prior to inspections.
• Directs the quality inspection activities of subordinate QC engineers and other inspection personnel as assigned.
• Performs or leads inspection, witness, test and/or surveillance, and documents results of inspection activities.
• Assists in resolution of complex codes, specifications and drawing interpretations and leads inspections and surveillance.
• Assesses completeness of quality-related activities and verification documentation prior to quality control releases for turnover.
• Reviews suppliers/subcontractor quality verification documentation for traceability and compliance.
• Approves suppliers/subcontract invoices and payment applications before submission to procurement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Senior Construction Quality Control (QC) Engineer II to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Senior Construction Quality Control (QC) Engineer II provides quality control support to operations and project teams for construction projects. This support includes performing quality control inspection and surveillance activities in support of operations (welding inspection only for operations), and project activities.

Responsibilities

• Directs personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results.
• Reviews design output documents in accordance with approved procedures to establish inspection requirements in quality assurance procedures, construction plans, and/or work packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (engineering or science) and relevant work experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing as detailed in the job description; or
• Bachelor’s degree in a non-technical discipline and relevant work experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing as detailed in the job description; or
• Associate's degree and relevant work experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing as detailed in the job description; or
• High School Diploma/GED and relevant work experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing as detailed in the job description.

Additional Information:

• A two-year technical diploma will be considered equivalent to an Associate's degree.
• Certification with continuing technical training is required for performance of inspections and surveillance activities. Specialized training may also be required to support certain technical areas
