Job summary

Johansen Construction Company is seeking a Project Manager to oversee construction activities on assigned projects, ensuring timely completion in accordance with plans, specs, codes, budget and schedule.

The role requires strong understanding of construction methods, excellent documentation, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. You will manage subcontractors, suppliers, and project staff, and represent the company on site.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in the heavy civil/infrastructure industry.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience across construction disciplines.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent is favorable.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and enforce the company’s Health & Safety Program.
• Maximize use of company resources, including craft, staff, and equipment.
• Assist in hiring, training, and development of staff personnel.
• Provide project staff with guidance, training and regular evaluation for career development.
• Ensure accountability for staff performance and continuous improvement.
• Maintain communications with Project Administrators, Engineers, Superintendents, and Safety Personnel.
• Oversee work plans and scheduling to determine manpower, materials, and equipment needs.
• Advise management of potential problems and lead resolution efforts.
• Develop good relations with Owner/Client/Engineer, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Set project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards.
• Manage all financial aspects including pay estimates, AR, cash flow and retention.
• Ensure accurate cost and revenue reporting and forecasting.
