Job summary

Lucid Search Group is partnering with a family-owned general contractor in Arizona to hire a Senior Project Manager who will lead complex commercial and public sector projects across the state from preconstruction to closeout.

You'll mentor junior team members, partner with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, and report to executive leadership. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and value engineering on occupied facilities and high-profile civic work.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction, with public-sector work preferred.
• Experience delivering projects from $1M to $50M in occupied, active facilities.
• Strong knowledge of means and methods, building codes, and contract administration.

Senior Project Manager, Commercial and Public Sector Construction

Lucid Search Group is partnering with a well-established, family-owned general contractor in Arizona to find a Senior Project Manager. Our client is known for strong community relationships and alternative delivery work, including CMAR, Design-Build, and job order contracting, on civic, public safety, education, and select private projects. The Opportunity

You’ll lead complex projects across Arizona from preconstruction through closeout, serving as the main point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. This is a leadership role where you’ll also mentor the next generation of project managers and help shape how the company delivers work.

What You’ll Do

• Lead every phase of delivery on civic, public safety, education, and community facility projects
• Manage budgets, schedules, and resources, and spot risks before they become problems
• Keep communication open and productive with owners, design teams, and trade partners
• Report to executive leadership and take part in regular project reviews
• Oversee contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and prevailing wage compliance
• Partner with estimating on preconstruction, constructability reviews, subcontractor buyout, and value engineering
• Promote a strong safety culture on every jobsite
• Mentor project engineers and assistant project managers

What You Bring

• 10+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction, with public-sector work preferred
• A track record delivering projects from $1M to $50M, including work in occupied, active facilities
• Strong knowledge of means and methods, building codes, and contract administration
• Proficiency with Procore or similar software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
