Job summary

Gleeds is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major maritime port facility on the Gulf Coast. Location to be determined within Louisiana, Alabama or Texas, with relocation or travel-to-site arrangements considered.

The role requires extensive experience managing large-scale capital projects from preconstruction through commissioning, coordinating owners, design consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulators to ensure safety, schedule, budget and quality

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of construction project management experience delivering large capital projects.
  • Experience overseeing projects exceeding $100M in construction value.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial construction methods, structural steel, concrete, utilities, heavy mechanical systems, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience managing EPC contractors and multiple subcontractors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of a large-scale maritime port facility.
  • Manage projects through feasibility, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, budgets, schedules, risk registers, and reporting processes.
  • Direct construction activities to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Monitor project performance against schedule, cost, quality, and safety metrics.
  • Lead progress meetings and provide executive-level reporting on project status, risks, mitigation strategies, and financial performance.
  • Review contractor schedules and monitor critical path activities.
  • Manage change control, contract administration, claims avoidance, and commercial negotiations.
  • Manage all aspects of project cost control and budget performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain the overall project budget, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and owner-direct contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, permitting, and local/state/federal regulations.
  • Coordinate installation of complex industrial manufacturing equipment and heavy lifting systems.
  • Oversee commissioning activities and transition into operational readiness.
  • Foster a collaborative project environment while maintaining strong client relationships.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a major maritime port facility, location To be determined in Louisiana, Alabama or Texas. This is a high-profile industrial development requiring an individual with extensive experience managing large-scale capital construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while coordinating multiple stakeholders including owners, design consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

This role is ideal for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in heavy industrial, marine, manufacturing, or port infrastructure projects.
