Job summary

Nbutexas is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Des Moines, IA to lead ground-up, multi-million-dollar builds for a growing commercial general contractor. You will guide projects from preconstruction to closeout, coordinating with architects, owners, and city officials to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in construction project management with ground-up commercial or multifamily projects.
• Experience working as a general contractor or owner-builder is required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, owners, and city officials.
• Write and execute scopes, contracts, change orders, and risk documentation.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure timely procurement of materials.
• Lead meetings, track RFIs and submittals, and resolve jobsite issues in real time.

Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in construction project management with ground-up commercial or multifamily projects
• Experience working as a general contractor or owner-builder is required

• Strong experience with budgets, procurement, scheduling, and project documentation
• Ability to manage client communication, subcontractors, and internal teams

Project Manager Preferred Background & Skills

• Strong leadership and communication skills with a proactive mindset

• Background in tenant improvement or historic renovation work is a plus
• Deep knowledge of construction schedules, city permitting, and cost control
