Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support the Construction Solutions Group in the northeastern Ohio area (Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Cleveland).

The role focuses on inspecting transportation and utility infrastructure, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and managing field records and payments. Ideal candidates hold a PE license, have 15+ years of relevant experience, and can read/interpret plans and specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology (ABET), Construction Engineering, Construction Management (ACCE).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 15+ years of transportation and/or utility infrastructure construction inspection experience is required.
• Extensive knowledge of ODOT standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work on transportation and utility infrastructure projects to document conformity to standards and specifications.
• Coordinate between contractors, designers, utilities, and local residents.
• Prepare and maintain field reports, measurements, and quantities for payment.
• Perform material sampling and testing (soil, compaction, concrete, etc.).
• Prepare pay estimates and change orders for client presentation.
• Lead client coordination meetings and document minutes.
