TekCom Resources, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Program / Project Manager for FTTH in Rahway, NJ. The role oversees day-to-day field activities, ensures construction quality, and drives fiber builds across New Jersey.

Office-based when not in the field, with travel as needed, and a company vehicle provided. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in fiber construction, FTTH, or OSP field management, plus P&L experience and GC familiarity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in fiber construction, FTTH builds, or OSP field management.
• Experience in managing project financials, including P&L responsibility.
• Strong field experience with crews and day-to-day OSP construction realities.

Responsibilities

• Manage financials of assigned projects, including P&L oversight, cost control and budgeting.
• Lead FTTH construction activities including conduit installation, fiber placement, splicing, and restoration.
• Interpret construction prints, fiber design packages, and redlines.
• Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and technicians to ensure safe, efficient work.
• Conduct site walks, verify as-builts, and ensure adherence to specs and standards.
• Monitor timelines, production goals, and escalate risks or delays as needed.
• Ensure permitting, ROW, and utility coordination compliance.
• Track materials, equipment, and job readiness for zones.
• Provide regular leadership reports on status, issues and milestones.

Senior Construction Program / Project Manager -FTTH Location: Rahway, NJ (office‑based when not in the field) Direct Hire Salary Range: $135, 000–$150, 000 DoE (Company Vehicle Provided) Overview Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Program / Project Manager (PM)with deep, hands‑on field knowledge of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) construction. This role oversees day‑to‑day field activities, ensures construction quality, and drives successful delivery of fiber builds across New Jersey. The ideal candidate understands the full lifecycle of fiber construction —from conduit placement to splicing —and can effectively lead field technicians and subcontractors. Previous experience with a General Contractor (GC) is strongly preferred. This is an urgent need, and we need someone who can quickly and be able to step in and lead immediately.

Role: Manage the financial end of assigned projects, including P&L oversight, cost control, forecasting, and budget adherence. Lead and manage FTTH construction activities including conduit installation, fiber placement, splicing, and restoration. Interpret and work from construction prints, fiber design packages, and redlines. Oversee and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality work. Conduct site walks, verify as‑builts, and ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards. Monitor project timelines, production goals, and daily progress;escalate risks or delays as needed. Ensure compliance with local permitting, right‑of‑way requirements, and utility coordination. Track materials, equipment needs, and job readiness for assigned work zones. Provide regular reporting to leadership on construction status, issues, and milestones.

What will catch our eye: 7 + years of experience in fiber construction, FTTH builds, or OSP field management. Experience in managing project financials, including P&L responsibility. Strong, proven field experience —must understand the work, the crews, and the day‑to‑day realities of OSP construction. Previous experience with a General Contractor (GC) is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of conduit construction, fiber placement methods, and splicing workflows. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fiber maps, and splice documentation. Proven experience managing field technicians or subcontractor crews. Knowledge of OSP construction standards, safety practices, and quality control. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and field‑based decision‑making skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally throughout New Jersey. Experience with FTTH deployments for ISPs, utilities, or engineering firms. Familiarity with make-ready, permitting, and utility coordination. Background in OSP inspection, QC, or construction auditing.
