Job summary

Procon Consulting in Washington, DC seeks a Senior Construction Manager for a long‑term opportunity. You will lead construction management and owner’s representative duties across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with contract documents and safety requirements.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in construction management on complex projects, knowledge of CPM scheduling, QA/QC, RFIs, and procurement, and the ambition to become a future leader within Procon.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required (or 20 years of experience).
  • 10 years of experience in construction management on complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents, CPM scheduling, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and QA/QC processes.
  • Familiarity with PMIS like eBuilder and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to review contractor reports, schedules, pay apps, and technical documentation for accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Risk management and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and federal/government project requirements preferred.
  • Renovation/occupied renovation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor on-site processes for compliance with drawings, security, and code.
  • Lead construction management and owner’s representative duties across multiple projects.
  • Oversee daily activities including RFIs, submittals, schedules, change orders, and quality control.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify work aligns with contract documents and safety rules.
  • Track progress, risks, testing, and maintain project logs.
  • Coordinate project meetings, prepare minutes, and communicate actions with stakeholders.
  • Review schedules, pay applications, and change orders for accuracy against progress.
  • Monitor contractor quality control and safety programs to ensure compliance.
  • Support procurement, project startup, closeout, and lifecycle planning.
  • Coordinate with owners, designers, consultants, and contractors to maintain alignment.
  • Prepare reports, risk assessments, and IGEs to support oversight.
  • Provide administrational and contractual duties, including records management and SOWs.
