Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead projects in distribution or industrial facilities. Located in Lexington, Kentucky or Atlanta, Georgia, this role offers the chance to manage field teams, coordinate trade partners, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has at least six years in construction management, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong scheduling, budgeting, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six years of experience in construction management.
• Technical knowledge and experience for a Project Manager I role or has completed at least two projects in that role.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and modern software used by Gray.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interrelated activities of trade partners, suppliers, vendors, design and engineering efforts.
• Demonstrate leadership, communication, management and problem‑solving on the project(s).
• Monitor and report the financial status of the project(s) and manage subcontract and contract administration.
• Develop and maintain the project progress schedule to ensure construction aligns with the plan.
• Procure and monitor delivery of materials for the project scope at optimum price and quality.
• Negotiate contracts with trade partners and vendors to minimize scope gaps and project risk.
• Review and approve trade partner and vendor payment requests.
• Evaluate change order requests from trade partners in a timely fashion.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure compliance with guidelines and technical requirements.
• Prepare and present reports (monthly red files, progress schedules, billings, status reports).
• Organize and maintain job files to ensure workflow continuity.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for scope compliance.
• Possibly assist with estimating efforts for the project and proposals.
• Uphold Gray’s safety and quality programs on site.
• Support team leadership and collaboration across multiple teams.
