Job summary

Dormont Manufacturing Co is seeking a Senior Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician in La Vista, Nebraska. In this role, you will independently perform advanced-level construction materials testing and special inspections, while also mentoring less-experienced staff.

You will be responsible for performing inspections on large construction sites, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with specifications. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, technical degrees, and various certifications in construction observation.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in construction observation or special inspections.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving history.

Job Description

As a Senior Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician, you will independently perform advanced‑level construction materials testing and special inspections work with occasional advice from a supervisor. You will also direct efforts of less‑experienced staff, local travel to various project sites around the Omaha metro area, and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions. Company vehicle is provided to travel to and from various project sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and testing on large commercial and industrial construction sites.
• Prepare daily inspection and test reports.
• Review inspection and test data for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with training and mentoring of less experienced staff, with potential to lead a team of field staff on large projects.
• Work with engineers and clients to ensure specifications are being followed.

• Various ICC Certifications, ACI Grade I, Various NICET Certifications, Nuclear Gauge certifications required OR a bachelor's degree in engineering with EIT.
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving history.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
