Job summary

Triax Engineering, a Colorado geotechnical engineering and materials testing firm, seeks an experienced Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician to run testing and observation assignments across the Denver metro area. You will be the on-site representative on significant projects, supported by project managers, engineers, and a laboratory team.

Requirements include at least five years of relevant field testing/inspection experience and current certifications such as ACI Grade I, WAQTC,

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant construction materials testing or inspection experience.
• Current certifications such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, WAQTC or equivalent, ICC Special Inspector, CDOT materials certifications, and/or nuclear gauge safety certification.
• Working knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, CDOT, and municipal testing requirements.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to work outdoors year-round and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt (density, slump, air content, specimen prep, paving observation) on assigned projects.
• Observe construction activities for conformance with plans and geotechnical recommendations; communicate nonconforming conditions and failing results promptly.
• Perform special inspections within your certification levels.
• Prepare complete, accurate daily field reports that stand up to third-party review.
• Represent Triax professionally with contractors, clients, and public agency representatives; help mentor entry-level technicians.

Triax Engineering, a growing Colorado geotechnical engineering and materials testing firm, is hiring an experienced field technician to run testing and observation assignments independently on commercial, municipal, transportation, and infrastructure projects across the Denver metro area. You will be our on-site representative on significant projects, with the backing of our project managers, engineers, and laboratory.

What You'll Do

What You Need

Pay and Benefits

$25.00–$35.00 per hour based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated capability.
