Job summary

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, seeks a Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician to join the Intertek-PSI team in Corpus Christi, Texas. You will perform field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and masonry, supporting project teams and delivering clear testing reports.

Qualifications

• ACI: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification.
• NICET II certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Asphalt Level 1B Roadway Specialist preferred.
• Soils, Concrete, Masonry, Reinforced Steel knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and diagrams.
• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry and reinforced steel.
• Conduct construction inspections and document project findings.
• Prepare testing reports and communicate results to project teams and clients.
• Observe site activities and provide interpretation of results.
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with client and project teams.

The Senior Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician performs field and laboratory testing of construction materials including soils, concrete, asphalt, and masonry. What you’ll do:

• Utilize, read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and reinforced steel
• Conduct construction inspections and document project findings
• Prepare testing reports and communicate results to project teams and clients
• Use specific methods to observe site activities, perform tasks and give the interpretation of results
• Attend project meetings alone, without supervision, and communicate effectively with client and project teams.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Must possess the following certifications:
  • ACI: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1
  • Soils, Concrete, Masonry, , Reinforced Steel
  • Asphalt Level 1B Roadway Specialist
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
• Ability to climb occasionally

Preferred Certifications Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• NICET II
