Job summary

Intertek Building & Construction is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician in Spring, Texas. You will perform testing, observe site activities, and document results under supervision, supporting soil, concrete, and related assessments in the A/E/C industry.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and an eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment. Training will cover testing methods, safety, and reporting, with opportunities for career growth within Intertek PSI.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds frequently; may exceed 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work outdoors in hot/cold weather and be on feet for long periods.
• Willingness to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Comfort with climbing and heights as part of field duties.

Entry‑Level Field Technician - Construction Materials Testing – Spring, Texas

The Field Technician is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

What you’ll do:

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
• Ability to work over night hours and off shift

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six months of experience in construction materials / density testing
• ACI Certification
