Job summary

Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our Life Science Sector team in Huntsville, Alabama, supporting large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will manage stakeholders, schedules, and governance to deliver compliant projects.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and suppliers; monitor milestones; produce status reports; and ensure adherence to design standards while providing cost control and constructability guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering (or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum 8–12 years of relevant project management experience.
• Strong organizational and management skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and suppliers to deliver compliant projects.
• Analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slips.
• Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized.
• Produce formal project status reports and other reports as required.
• Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects to ensure design standards are applied correctly.

Job Description

Turner & Townsendare seeking an experiencedSenior Construction Managertojoin our team in support of our Life Science Sector. The ideal individual will have prior experience supporting large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and supplychainsto deliver compliant projects.


• Can analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid scheduleslips.


• Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized


• Ensure application of best practice on all projects.


• Production of formal project status reports and other reports asrequired.


• Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards areappliedcorrectly.


• Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.


• Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.


• Forecast and update key project milestones.


• Manage andmonitorlocal design teamsin accordance withcommission criteria.


• Provide technical support to owners, architects, generalcontractorsand regional stakeholders.


• Rapid response to RFIs from the field.


• Provideexpertisefor cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance whererequired.


• Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals,timelinesand costs from architects,contractorsand suppliers.


• Client management –assistin developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.


• Strategic Thinking -providesadvice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’objectivesand businessobjectives.


• Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings generated from each projectiscaptured.


• Process improvement – Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes


• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or applicable bachelor’s degree and or equivalent experience.


• Minimum 8-12years of relevantproject managementexperience.


• Strong organizational and management skills –the abilityto work effectively and collaboratively withthebroader team.


• Proficiencyin Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools.
