Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Distribution Oversight Inspector to oversee and coordinate electric distribution construction contractors at the district level. This role plays a key part in supporting our client’s strategic initiatives by ensuring that construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with project goals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, oversee, schedule processes and procedures for supplying electric power with key stakeholders including members, developers, and contracted crews.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor the work assigned to contractors in their district(s).
  • Inspect, review, and approve work completed by construction contractors.
  • Work with district leadership to ensure accuracy of as-built vs. billed items on invoices.
  • Collaborate with Distribution Operations Technicians, managers, planning, and design leads to keep system and district diagrams current.
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction crews, and inspectors on right of way requirements.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings.
  • Enforce safety policies, the Line Extension Policy, and the National Electric Safety Code.
  • Inspect URD and OH construction and maintenance work.
  • Ensure contractors meet specifications and safety regulations.
  • Report problems encountered during inspections.
  • Recommend process improvements and solutions.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on electrical distribution construction issues.
  • Provide technical direction and maintain contractor performance matrices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and stay updated on technological advances.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include providing technical guidance to contractors and client crews.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field (preferred).
  • 8-10 years of electrical distribution or transmission experience.
  • Crew foreman experience required.
  • Knowledge of Outlook, MS Office, Maximo, and Argus Mapping System.
  • DOL Certified Journeyman preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Must be able to stand, reach, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Travel may be required. Work hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
