Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead telecom equipment deployment for assigned sites in Puerto Rico. You will coordinate with Ericsson teams, customers, and suppliers, assess site readiness, and manage budgets and schedules.

This role requires guiding contractors, overseeing safety and compliance, and selecting build approaches. You will mentor Field Construction Managers and ensure quality standards while delivering projects on time and within contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Computer Science, IT or other science discipline.
• At least 6 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and hands on Construction experience is required.
• Proven ability to provide design solutions and guide order of operations.
• Experience managing contractors and estimating scope for civils, ground, L&A, backhaul, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of site acquisition, zoning, permitting, landlord negotiations, leasing laws, jurisdictional requirements, and environmental compliance.
• Completion of OSHA 30-hour telecom course.

• Interpret customer scope, throughput targets, and end requirements; plan and manage execution accordingly
• Assess site suitability and determine build approach (self-perform vs. suppliers)
• Select and manage suppliers based on expertise, cost, and delivery needs

About this opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Construction Manager who has a leading, coordinating and supporting role regarding technical topics and solutions within a network implementation organization. The Senior Construction Manager leads all aspects of telecommunications equipment deployment for assigned sites, serving as the market's key decision-maker on technical, operational, and contractual matters. Responsibilities include assessing site readiness, selecting and negotiating with suppliers, managing non-FPP work, resolving equipment and materials issues, planning and scheduling construction, managing budgets, and overseeing complex projects. The role also involves delegating tasks to field teams, acting as an escalation point, and mentoring Field Construction Managers with support from coordinators and remote managers

The skills you bring

• Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Business, Operations, Engineering, Computer Science, IT or other science discipline.
• At least 6 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and hands on Construction experience is required
• Proven ability to provide design solutions and guide order of operations
• Skilled in determining site feasibility and offering site design consulting
• Direct knowledge of general construction processes and procedures
• Experience managing and directing contractors, estimating scope for civils, ground, L&A, backhaul, and maintenance
• Ability to enforce Ericsson and customer construction and quality standards
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Deep understanding of site acquisition, zoning, permitting, landlord negotiations, leasing laws, jurisdictional requirements, and environmental compliance
• Ability to interface with customers, property owners, and internal/external personnel
• Strong contract knowledge (leasing, vendor-facing, customer-facing) and financial acumen
• Proven leadership skills
• Strong understanding of EHS statutory requirements
• Completion of OSHA 30-hour telecom course
• Experience with Ericsson equipment portfolio is a plus
• Significant, hands on experience in managing construction projects, particularly in the area of tower new site builds
• Experience scoping NSB and NSB Power and Fiber Walks
• Experience leading Civil Construction including fiber, commercial power, and site conditioning (trenching, fencing, conduit, concrete, roads, etc.)
