Job summary

KEITH Engineering Design seeks an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead on-site execution for a major capital improvement project in Delray Beach, FL. You will serve as the Owner’s representative, overseeing construction, coordinating with design teams, contractors, and authorities to deliver safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The role requires strong leadership, scheduling, cost control, and safety compliance, with proven experience as Owner's Representative or Construction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Experience on large commercial, municipal, institutional, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Experience serving as Owner's Representative or Construction Manager on complex capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, scheduling, cost management, QA, and project controls.
  • Experience reviewing schedules, change orders, RFIs, and construction documentation.
  • Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • OSHA safety regulations knowledge and best practices.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and PM software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Owner's onsite representative throughout all construction phases.
  • Provide overall construction management leadership while protecting the Owner's interests.
  • Monitor contractor performance for compliance with contract documents, schedule, quality, and safety.
  • Review schedules, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to protect milestones.
  • Evaluate RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and claims.
  • Coordinate with Owner, Architect/Engineer, contractor, utilities, and permitting agencies.
  • Lead progress meetings, set agendas, and track action items.
  • Monitor budgets, cost forecasts, contingency usage, and financial performance.
  • Verify completed work through field observations and coordination with inspectors.
  • Ensure safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Identify risks and develop practical solutions to avoid schedule/budget impact.
  • Coordinate commissioning, substantial completion, punch lists, final inspections, and closeout.
  • Prepare executive-level reports on progress, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and resolve conflicts.

Senior Construction Manager

Location: Delray Beach, FL

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our Construction Management team for a major capital improvement project in Delray Beach, Florida. This is an onsite role serving as the Owner’s Representative, providing leadership and oversight throughout construction to ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget. The Senior Construction Manager will act as the primary onsite liaison between the Owner, design team, contractor, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders. This individual will oversee construction progress, administer the construction contract, proactively resolve project issues, and provide strategic leadership throughout the duration of the project.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Owner's onsite representative throughout all phases of construction.
  • Provide overall construction management leadership while protecting the Owner's interests.
  • Monitor contractor performance for compliance with contract documents, project specifications, schedule, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Review contractor schedules, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to maintain project milestones.
  • Evaluate and process Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, pay applications, and claims.
  • Coordinate closely with the Owner, Architect/Engineer, contractor, utility providers, and permitting agencies to facilitate timely project delivery.
  • Lead regular construction progress meetings and prepare meeting agendas, action items, and meeting minutes.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, contingency usage, and overall financial performance.
  • Verify completed work through field observations and coordination with inspection personnel.
  • Review contractor quality control activities and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.
  • Monitor compliance with project safety requirements and OSHA regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop practical solutions before they impact schedule or budget.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities, substantial completion, punch list development, final inspections, and project closeout.
  • Prepare executive-level reports detailing project progress, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and key performance indicators.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders while facilitating collaboration and resolving conflicts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Construction management experience with increasing responsibility on large commercial, municipal, institutional, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Experience serving as an Owner's Representative, Construction Manager, or Program Manager on complex capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contract administration, scheduling, cost management, quality assurance, and project controls.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing contractor schedules, change orders, pay applications, RFIs, and construction documentation.
  • Working knowledge of construction delivery methods.
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and construction industry best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
