Job summary

STV is seeking Senior Construction Inspectors to join our Transportation Division in Columbia, SC, with locations in Columbia, Charleston, Aiken, and Myrtle Beach. You will support major transportation projects, maintain client relationships, and contribute to STV’s CEI practice while ensuring safety and quality on site.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of construction inspection experience, travel to project sites, and the ability to obtain several certifications within six months.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years of construction inspection experience.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Certifications to be acquired within 6 months of beginning employment, at no cost to the candidate, as schedule permits).

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection activities on highway, bridge, rail, and tunnel projects.
• Apply safety philosophy to all responsibilities and work outdoors in all weather.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
• Establish engineering controls for construction and inspection.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and on-site material testing.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with project staff and clients, verbally and in writing.
• Train and/or mentor junior staff.
