Job summary

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED plus four years of experience in construction inspection or related maintenance.
• Six months of sub-professional engineering or heavy equipment experience plus four years of construction inspection experience.
• Twenty-four semester hours in architecture, cartography, construction management, or related fields; OR
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction management, or construction technology; OR engineer intern certificate.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary lead worker in a Project Engineer's Office and manage contract administration for roadways and public works.
• Provide quality assurance inspections and supervise a team of inspectors and engineering technicians.
• Act as DOTD's principal representative on construction projects with frequent contact with contractors and other DOTD/FHWA personnel.
• Lead daily project operations and supervise lower-level staff.
• Manage complex or multi-phased projects including earthwork, asphaltic concrete, and PCC pavement inspections.
