Job summary

Kleinfelder Construction Services seeks experienced Construction Inspectors (Civil/Roadway, Structure, Electrical) for Southern California transportation projects. You will perform QA inspection, document progress, and support field operations on site with a field vehicle and gas card.

Role requires 5+ years of inspection experience, Caltrans knowledge, and ability to work nights. BS in Civil Engineering or EIT and proficiency in Office, CAD, and Primavera P6 are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in civil/roadway or Structure, or Electrical construction inspection of transportation, facilities or major public works projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance inspection and documentation of construction activities under the direction of a Resident Engineer.
• Interpret plans, specifications, and codes to verify that construction work is performed in accordance with them.
• Prepare detailed Daily Inspection Reports, with photos, accurately reflecting the construction progress.
• Measure, calculate, track, and record pay quantities for monthly estimates.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment and comply with safety rules and procedures.
• Maintain field as-built drawings.
• Assist the Resident Engineer with field input on change orders, RFIs, submittals, and response letters to the contractor.
