A leading university seeks an Inspector to oversee construction projects, ensuring compliance with California regulations. The role involves collaborating with design professionals and documenting the construction process. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in building construction and relevant certifications.
The UCLA Capital Programs organization is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of major capital improvement projects supporting UCLA's academic and administrative functions. The Design and Construction unit oversees campus design standards, professional selection and supervision, project design, programming, architectural and engineering services, project management, construction management, inspection, budget and schedule oversight, and regulatory compliance for on- and off-campus projects.
Under the supervision of the architect or structural engineer of record, and the Chief Inspector/Lead Inspector Record, this role provides inspection services as specified by California Code of Regulations Title 24 for work documented in approved project plans. The inspector assists design professionals, the Manager of Quality Assurance, lead field Inspectors of Record, and project managers as a liaison with contractors and campus clients. Responsibilities include documenting the construction process, reporting to design professionals, and recording 'As-Built' information during construction.
UCLA offers a comprehensive pay range. Actual offers depend on factors such as budget, experience, skills, education, licensure, certifications, and other considerations.
