Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Field Services team in Phoenix. You will conduct field observations on civil infrastructure projects, document results, and ensure work meets the highest standards of safety and quality.

Collaborating with Project Managers and fellow inspectors, you will read drawings, identify discrepancies, and provide guidance to junior staff. This full-time role supports HDR's employee-owned culture and commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; 3 years of construction inspection experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction progress for civil projects such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other field representatives.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

In the role of Senior Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant Industry Certifications (ATTI, ACI, NICET)
• Ability to interpret construction schedules

Required Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
• A minimum of 3 years experience
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
