Job summary

HDR is seeking a Civil Construction Inspector I to monitor and document progress on civil infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with specifications.

You will coordinate field materials sampling and testing, work with Senior Inspectors, and contribute to HDR's employee-owned culture and standards. HDR is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.

Qualifications

• Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects.
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting test cylinders.
• Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work in progress.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Civil Construction Inspector I, we’ll count on you to:

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads and bridges
• Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in‑place soil compaction testing
• Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection
• Certifications such as ACI, ATTI, or NICET
• Ability to interpret construction schedules

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
