Job summary

IA Construction Corporation seeks a capable Controller to oversee the accounting department, ensuring timely monthly financial statements for ownership. This exempt role reports to the Regional Manager and requires independent work in a construction environment.

You will drive general ledger analysis, cash management, and close processes while coordinating audits and financing activities. Candidates need 3+ years in a Controller role with construction experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Computers and Microsoft Office software applications.
• General accounting processes, procedures and systems.
• Report preparation.
• Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
• 3 years of experience as a Controller.
• Previous experience in the construction industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze general ledger activity.
• Manage daily cash and banking activities.
• Oversee bank activities relating to lines of credit and letters of credit.
• Post and verify entries; reconcile accounts and maintain journals.
• Maintain records and filing systems; respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist staff with day-to-day processing issues and month-end close.
• Provide information to external auditors and support year-end audit.
• Bid and secure equipment and acquisition financing.
• Conduct annual staff evaluations and assign staff as needed.
• Complete financial section of Penn Dot Prequalification and other gov't surveys.
• Work with outside CPA firm on year end audit and acquisitions.
• Coordinate with insurance consultant on renewals and capital expenditures.
