Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a Construction Representative to support field and office activities during construction phases. You will assist the Resident Engineer, maintain drawings, and ensure conformance with plans and specs on transportation projects.

Requirements include an associate degree with 6 years of experience or a bachelor’s in construction management with 4 years. CTDOT/Metro-North experience is preferred. Location: Rocky Hill, CT; salary range provided.

Qualifications

Associates degree in relevant field with 6 years of experience or Bachelor’s in Construction Management or related field with 4 years of experience.
Preferred CTDOT/Metro-North Railroad project experience including inspections of highways, drainage, bridges, rail, track, or OCS.
Strong ability to read and interpret contract documents and plans.

Responsibilities

Prepares documentation for change orders, reviews scope, schedule and cost; tracks RFIs, submittals and pay estimates.
Assists in constructability reviews and oversees on-site field work for conformance to plans and specifications.
Maintains as-constructed drawings and reports progress against schedule.
Mentors staff and liaises with Resident Engineer to resolve construction problems.
Keeps up-to-date with industry tools and technology to improve inspection tasks.
