Job summary

Kaser Mechanical LLC is seeking a seasoned construction cost estimator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in federal government construction. This role requires a general contractor’s approach and knowledge of all trades, and a degree in construction, architectural, or engineering studies.

Responsibilities include leading pre-construction efforts, preparing bid packages, sourcing bids, and reviewing proposals. Strong collaboration and multi-project management are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimating.
• Degree or formal study in construction, architectural, or engineering field.
• Experience as estimator for general contractors with references.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction efforts: proposal development, budgeting, planning, estimating, value engineering, bidding, scheduling and cost controls.
• Prepare Bid Packages and source vendor/subcontractor bids; review bids for conformance.
• Attend owner pre-bid meetings and organize subcontractor pre-bid meetings.
• Evaluate subcontractor/vendor proposals and manage risk in incomplete scope.
• Perform quantity take-offs and surveys; create estimates across design stages.
• Negotiate costs with subcontractors and vendors; draft subcontracts.
• Manage pre-construction relationships with Owners and support smooth transitions to construction.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure project handoffs are seamless.
• Oversee departmental organization and management.
