Job Title: Senior Construction Estimator

Reports To: President

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Job Summary:

Heartland Construction, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our estimating team. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of estimating experience on commercial construction projects, inclusive of schools, Design-Build, Bid-Build, and Conceptual Estimating. In addition, qualified candidates should have strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.
  2. Computes estimates for material costs, manpower labor hour requirements, leased equipment, subcontracted work, production scheduling, and permit requirements and associated costs.
  3. Ability to perform value engineering as necessary.
  4. Ability to develop and maintain subcontractor/supplier relationships.
  5. Ability to coordinate BIM Modeling Requirements.
  6. RFI’s.
  7. Prepares final contract estimates.
  8. Prepare and execute Subcontract Scope Requirements.
  9. Develop procurement strategies to minimize lead times.
  10. Ability to discern LEED compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree (Preferred).
  2. Construction Estimating: 5 years (Preferred).
  3. General Contractor: 5 years (Preferred).
  4. Estimating Software: 5 years (Preferred).
