The Senior Construction Auditor works in a dynamic, multi‑vendor environment and supports projects delivered under various construction project delivery approaches. This position requires a solid understanding of construction contracts and invoice processing, along with the ability to identify, document, and communicate compliance issues effectively.

  • Demonstrate a working understanding of various contract structures and associated cost controls.
  • Verify that each invoice has all required contractual authorizations prior to approval.
  • Understand the scope of work associated with the construction project being billed and assess whether invoiced costs align with approved scope.
  • Review invoices across multiple vendors and contracts, effectively managing complex and high‑volume review environments.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients and vendors to facilitate communication and timely resolution of issues identified during the invoice review process.
  • Identify non‑compliance issues and clearly document findings and associated cost impacts in a concise and accurate manner.
  • Describe identified issues and request appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain complete and well‑organized electronic and paper work papers documenting review procedures, findings, reviewed amounts, and payment recommendations.
  • Create, manipulate, and analyze spreadsheets to support invoice reviews, reconciliations, and tracking.
  • Maintain accurate and timely invoice tracking logs to support payment workflows and reporting.
  • Work independently while exercising sound professional judgment, and seek appropriate guidance and clarification when needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the audit and project team to ensure consistent application of review procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience reviewing and/or processing construction invoices or payment applications.
  • Construction contract compliance experience.
  • Previous knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Experience with all construction project delivery methods.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate complex cost and contract information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain findings.
  • Strong professional customer service skills and ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
