Job summary

Grayson Search Partners in Chicago seeks a senior construction accounting leader to own the monthly close, oversee WIP, job costing, revenue recognition, and project accounting. You will drive accuracy, controls, and timely reporting.

Lead a Project Accountant, partner with senior leadership, and advance efficient processes. A strong construction accounting background and 7+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong construction accounting background.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and financial reporting.
• Oversee WIP, job costing, revenue recognition, and project accounting.
• Review progress billings and lien waivers.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, banking, and financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll and related accounting processes.
• Manage a Project Accountant.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and introduce construction accounting best practices.
