Job summary

Morgner Construction Management Corp. seeks a senior structural engineer to review proposed structural plans for educational facilities, ensure code compliance, and coordinate with architects, engineers and district staff.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, 10 years of full-time experience in planning, design and construction of educational facilities, and CA PE/SE licensing or eligible substitutions.

Qualifications

• Ten years of full-time experience in structural engineering for educational facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field; exceptions for up to 2 years of the educational requirement.
• Knowledge of CBC, Cal Green Energy Code, OSHA, ASHRE, ASTM.
• Experience with LEED/CHPS and sustainability requirements.
• Ability to perform QA/QC, constructability reviews, and peer reviews.
• Ability to prepare and review structural standards and specifications.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review proposed structural plans for educational facilities and construction projects.
• Provide comments on adherence to District standards and quality of development and documentation of structural design.
• Coordinate with other units of Design and A/E Technical Support and other District organizations.
• Provide comments and lessons learned to update and maintain District policies and guides for design of educational facilities.
• Perform quality assurance/quality control, constructability, and peer reviews of District projects.
