McDermott Will & Schulte in New York/Chicago seeks a Senior Conflicts Attorney to lead the conflicts clearance process for complex matters and ensure compliance with risk management policies. You will work with senior firm leadership to review escalated conflicts and guide the conflicts attorneys.

The ideal candidate has a J.D., active bar membership, 7+ years of experience, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• Seven+ years of related work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conflicts clearance process for complex and sensitive matters.
• Collaborate with senior leadership; serve as liaison to clear escalated conflicts.
• Conduct conflict analysis on new firm business and lateral hires.
• Prepare, audit, and present conflict reports to attorneys to resolve issues.
• Review engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines for firm-wide compliance.
• Perform legal research related to conflicts clearance and ethical walls.
• Oversee workflow and training of the Conflicts Attorneys team.
• Lead training and onboarding of Conflicts Attorneys.
