Job summary

Merlin Labs in Boston, MA seeks a Process Engineer to mature configuration management across its Technology organization, aligning civil and military programs with rigorous item identification, baselining, and release practices.

You will refine the change control process and chart a path from file-share controls to a dedicated PLM system, partnering with engineering teams to ensure audit-ready data and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with aerospace/defense CM experience.
• 8+ years of experience executing complex CM processes in aerospace with FAA TIA experience.
• Knowledge of ANSI/EIA-649 and civil/military CM frameworks (ARP4754A, AS9100D, MIL-HDBK-61A).
• Experience administering CM/PLM tooling for baselining, versioning, and access control across civil/military environments.
• Experience defining/improving change control processes including board structures and criteria.
• Experience with DO-178C/DO-254 release and configuration practices for software/hardware.

Responsibilities

• Define, standardize, and improve configuration management processes across Merlin's Technology organization.
• Partner with engineering, program, and process assurance teams to apply CM practices.
• Refine change control process, including board structure and evaluation criteria.
• Establish item identification, versioning, and release conventions company-wide.
• Define retention, archival, and obsolescence practices for CM items.
• Administer and improve CM/PLM tooling and drive adoption.
• Assess current CM tooling and roadmap toward a dedicated PLM system.
• Train teams on CM practices to raise adherence and consistency.
• Apply CM principles to civil and military programs Merlin supports.
• Support improved CM of flight test vehicle integration activities.
