Job summary

The Panther Group is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst in the Chelmsford/Andover, MA area to join a CM & Data Integrity team. You will manage configuration baselines, track engineering changes, and ensure documentation traceability across the product lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years CM experience (or 10+ with associate degree) and are proficient with BOMs, drawings, and the MS Office suite. Defense/aerospace context is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

The Panther Group is currently seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a leading defense and aerospace organization in the Chelmsford/Andover, MA area. This position is part of a Configuration Management & Data Integrity team responsible for maintaining accurate product configuration, revision control, documentation traceability, and engineering change management throughout the product lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Manage product revision control and maintain accurate configuration baselines.
• Support documentation and data traceability processes for engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Review, log, categorize, and track engineering changes against approved customer baselines.
• Analyze Technical Data Packages and identify configuration impacts for affected stakeholders.
• Ensure configuration management and data management processes meet contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Support change-management activities from initial concept through product sustainment.
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for highly detailed, mission-critical programs.
• Support special projects and cross-site initiatives related to configuration management and data integrity.
• Mentor junior team members and share configuration management best practices.

What We're Looking For

• Associate degree plus 10+ years of Configuration Management-related experience, or a bachelor's degree with 6+ years of professional experience.
• Experience applying Configuration Management policies, procedures, and tools.
• Ability to understand and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Strong documentation and document-management skills.
• Business acumen and a self-starting approach.

Preferred Experience

• Configuration Management certifications.
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• ERP systems.
• SharePoint, Windchill, JIRA, and/or Confluence.
• Configuration Management standards and principles, including SAE EIA-649.
• Electronics manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Defense, aerospace, military, or logistics experience.
