C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Concrete Paving Mechanic to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and assist with the setup of concrete paving equipment. This role supports paving crews to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in heavy civil construction or concrete paving, with strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of paving gear. Willingness to work outdoors, nights, weekends, and extended hours is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, concrete paving, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of concrete paving equipment and operations.
• Basic welding and fabrication knowledge.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on concrete paving equipment.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective components.
• Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, and calibration.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed.
• Communicate equipment issues and repair needs to paving supervision.
• Work with paving crews to minimize downtime and maintain production.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and a safe work area.
