Job summary

KonstructIQ is seeking a Senior Computer Vision / Applied AI Engineer to advance how construction plans are read and takeoffs are generated. You’ll own the end‑to‑end CV/multimodal pipeline from ingestion to validation, delivering reliable quantities and measurements for real projects.

Collaborate with estimators and engineers to optimize accuracy, scale detection, and geometric reasoning across varied drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer vision, ML, or a related field; 3+ years in CV/Applied AI roles.
• Proven track record building production CV systems, not just prototypes.
• Deep knowledge of detection, segmentation, image processing, and geometry.
• Strong Python experience with CV/ML frameworks (PyTorch, OpenCV).
• Experience with multimodal vision-language models and document processing.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve CV and multimodal AI systems to detect, classify, segment, and measure plan elements.
• Improve scale detection and geometric reasoning across varied drawings and formats.
• Decide when to use traditional CV, specialized models, or LLMs, and produce production-ready outputs.
• Create deterministic post-processing and validation with confidence scoring.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and datasets to measure accuracy and takeoff quality.
• Build visual overlays and debugging tools to show detections and measurements.
• Collaborate with estimators, product, and engineering to translate workflows into solutions.
