Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Hardware Validation Engineer - Compute Validation to validate next-gen compute hardware powering software-defined vehicles. You will lead validation for central compute platforms, drive test strategies, and ensure readiness across environmental, EMC, and functional domains.

We value hands-on lab work, strong debugging skills, and the ability to collaborate across hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of hardware validation experience.
• Experience validating automotive electronic modules or compute systems.
• Leading environmental and/or EMC validation activities for automotive hardware.
• Experience with power delivery, high-speed interfaces, and signal integrity.
• Hands-on lab work with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, and debugging tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to drive issues to resolution across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead validation planning and execution for central compute platforms across lifecycle.
• Develop validation strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Drive issue identification, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design engineers to feed learnings into future designs.
• Coordinate environmental and EMC validation readiness and testing.
• Lead board bring-up and validation of prototype hardware.
• Provide technical leadership within validation workstreams.
• Support program milestones and reviews.
