Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Computational Research Scientist to lead in ML-driven cancer immunology research, building and applying computational methods to multi-omic data. You will collaborate with experimental scientists to translate findings into therapeutic hypotheses and patient care, mentoring junior scientists and guiding program direction.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2 years experience in driving computational biology/machine learning projects.
• 4 years experience in software development/engineering and/or HPC systems management with Master's Degree.
• Post-doctoral fellowship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements high-performance computing infrastructure for large, multi-institution projects.
• Leads biomedical computational methods and platforms for collaborations.
• Mentors staff and trainees; develops PoCs for biomedical use-cases.
• Designs algorithms and workflows for high-dimensional biomedical data.
• Develops software to explore and visualize biological data.
• Reports results in journals and conferences; supports faculty and students.
