Job summary

Recursion in Salt Lake City / New York is expanding its target ID team with roles in precision oncology and immunology. You will drive target discovery, validate disease biology, and develop data packages that support program milestones, partnering with biology, chemistry, and translational teams.

Ideal candidates have a PhD or MS with biotech/pharma experience, strong computational skills (Python/R), and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with 3+ years in biotech/pharma or MS with 5+ years in biotech/pharma solving early drug discovery problems.
• Domain expertise in precision oncology and target ID.
• Strong understanding of patient genetics and druggability of disease pathways.
• Experience applying computational methods (probabilistic, statistical, ML) to analyze complex biological data in Python or R.
• Exceptional data visualization skills and cross-functional communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive Target Discovery by evaluating molecular evidence for nomination and validation using Recursion’s platform.
• Pilot novel methods for discovery, validation, and early patient population hypotheses.
• Define internal criteria for target data packages and early population strategy.
• Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to scale analysis and data packages.
• Partner cross-functionally with biology, chemistry, translational, and portfolio leads to advance programs.
• Present data analyses to decision makers to support medicines being advanced to patients.
