Job description

The Sr. CMT will be responsible for manufacturing Spintech’s smart tooling mandrels and bladders, customers’ prototype composite parts, and Gemini Materials composite patch products and deploying such products at customer sites, as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform manufacturing of complex composite products. Tasks include preparing molds, preparing resins and fabric, oven set-up, resin transfer, monitoring process parameters (temperature, time, pressure, etc.), removal of product and trimming, clean-up, packing, etc.
  • Responsible for manufacturing quality, including workmanship, functionality, product readiness and complete and proper packing to meet delivery schedule and customer needs
  • Liaise directly with engineers, project leaders, manufacturing managers, and logistics personnel to ensure Master Production Schedule needs are met
  • Understand completely and adhere to AS9100 quality policies and procedures
  • Proactively identify problems in the manufacturing of products and the use of machinery and equipment and provide recommend solutions
  • Organize and plan project tasks and workflow, document procedures, and enter time electronically for each project
  • Responsible for properly tracking usage and disposition of materials used in production and for care and proper usage of company tools and equipment
  • Adhere to the highest practicable safety and housekeeping standards and perform both daily and weekly housekeeping duties
  • Help to develop and present special skills training to junior CMTs
  • Assist co-workers with on the job training
  • Will sometimes be required to travel to customer facilities to assist with installation and start-up of products
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Negative drug screen and favorable background check (Note: we are a smoke free facility)
  • Associates Degree and four to five (4-5) years of experience in a related field
  • Prior composite and/or polymers and/or resin experience, desired
  • Knowledge and experience with heavy product transportation (e.g. cranes & forklifts), required
  • Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings, schematics and diagrams, required
  • Mechanical assembly and disassembly of large products, desired
  • Experience with electronic time logging (i.e. into a Corporate Computer System) and Microsoft Word and Excel

Use of appropriate safety equipment including safety glasses and shoes will be required. The employee should have basic awareness of hazardous materials, cautions and be able to read MSDS reports and follow appropriate cautions required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
