Job summary

Gulfstream Savannah is seeking a Senior Component Repair Technician to lead and perform repair and overhaul of aircraft assemblies and components. You will work with a high degree of independence, ensuring work meets blueprints, manuals, and FAA data while maintaining required documentation.

The role requires strong proficiency in sheetmetal and electrical repair, with a background in reading engineering documents and CMP data.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT cert preferred.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, CMP data, CBs, and ASCs.
  • 6 years experience in sheetmetal/hydraulic overhaul, avionics/electrical repair, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and overhaul of internal and external aircraft assemblies and components per FAA Repair Station requirements.
  • Perform repairs using blueprints, manuals, and vendor documents.
  • Set up and operate test equipment for functional and operational tests.
  • Maintain paperwork per FAA Repair Station requirements.
  • Lay out, fabricate, and install repairs to flight controls and structure.
  • Provide training support to technicians.

  • Extensive sheetmetal fabrication and prototype experience preferred.
  • Catia experience preferred.
  • M-TH 4pm-2:30am.
Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT cert preferred. Able to read & interpret blueprints, engineering documents, CMP data, CBs, and ASCs. Proficient in operation of all tools & equipment in department. Basic understanding of shop math. 6 years experience in one of the following or related experience: Sheetmetal and/or hydraulic overhaul; Avionics/electrical component repair; accredited schooling in electronics and electrical systems may offset some experience requirements; APU removal, installation, and service.

Position Purpose: Working with a high degree of independence, provide leadership and technical guidance while performing the repair and overhaul of internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components in accordance with GAC Repair Station requirements.

Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Mastery of advanced skills, procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment, as appropriate to the area of specialization.
  2. Show superior technical skill and competence; perform, instruct, and oversee repair of mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies through removals, repair or replacement of defective parts, and/or fabrication of replacement parts, and installations in accordance with blueprints, component maintenance manuals, vendor documents, verbal instructions, engineering dispositions, and other authorized maintenance data.
  3. Set up and operate necessary test equipment to perform functional and operational tests of mechanical and electrical aircraft components for return to service or for initial certification for new products.
  4. Inspect all detail parts using blueprints, component and/or overhaul manuals, and other required maintenance data to ensure conformity requirements are met.
  5. Remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structure components, locate and install/reinstall parts.
  6. Demonstrate mastery of repair techniques and concepts using acceptable practices including troubleshooting, soldering, and application of protective coatings.
  7. Demonstrate expertise in the use, maintenance, and calibration requirements of precision measuring and inspection tools.
  8. Maintain and utilize all required paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements.
  9. Mastery of shop material and component flow through via work orders in accordance with Repair Station requirements.
  10. Comply with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations.
Additional Functions:
  1. Lay out, remove, fabricate, and/or install major and minor repairs to flight controls and other secondary structure components using honeycomb core sandwich construction techniques and composite repair techniques.
  2. Fabricate and repair sheetmetal and associated mechanical parts, components, and/or equipment.
  3. Remove & install APUs and perform all required APU maintenance for all GAC aircraft models.
  4. Provide technical support to Customer Support Coordinators and Tech Services.
  5. Perform complex troubleshooting and subsequent repairs to electronic assemblies and subassemblies.
  6. Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies and harnesses utilizing acceptable repair and fabrication processes.
  7. Perform, in conjunction with QC Representatives, mass weight and balance on repaired flight controls using blueprints and required FAA Repair Station forms.
  8. Assist with training Aircraft Component Repair Technicians.

Perform other duties as assigned. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
