Job summary
Spectraforce Technologies in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Hardware Engineer III / Component Engineer to own qualification and supply-risk management of electrical, electromechanical, and optoelectronic components.
The role bridges EE design with GSM/Sourcing, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure qualified, multi-sourced parts for NPI and sustaining. 12-month contract with hybrid work setup.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Materials, or related field.
- 5+ years in component/hardware engineering, supplier quality, or supply-chain engineering.
- Working knowledge of passive/active components, datasheets, and qualification/reliability methods.
- Experience with PLM (Agile/Teamcenter), AVL/BOM management, and ECN/PCN processes.
Responsibilities
- Review, qualify, and approve electrical / electromechanical / optoelectronic components for production use.
- Execute second-sourcing and multi-sourcing to de-risk supply and reduce cost.
- Determine component criticality and define the qual path with EE reviewers; manage New Part Requests.
- Feed qualified MPNs into the AVL, PLM (Teamcenter), and CBOM; support PCN/ECN processes.
- Own advanced BOM risk reviews and maintain EE BOM integrity across portfolios.
- Partner with GSM and cost teams; assist with shortages escalations and supplier inquiries.
