Senior Compliance Testing Analyst - Consumer Protection

Overview:
The Senior Compliance Testing Analyst is responsible for executing compliance testing and issue validations utilizing a risk-based approach to ensure the Bank’s compliance with consumer protection laws, rules, and regulations, such as Fair Lending/Fair & Responsible Banking, UDAP/UDAAP, HMDA, and CRA. Responsibilities include leading testing engagements, reporting, and overseeing team members to deliver quality results.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Interface with all organizational levels to gather process and control information.
  2. Lead testing team discussions with management, challenging judgments and opinions.
  3. Assess business processes and controls independently, providing risk-focused input.
  4. Perform compliance testing and issue validation per standards.
  5. Plan and execute control and substantive testing, review testing, and evaluate results.
  6. Review team members' work papers, providing feedback and coaching.
  7. Encourage integrated testing approaches with data & analytics teams.
  8. Complete work within timeframes, providing status updates.
  9. Draft testing findings and control weaknesses under managerial guidance.
  10. Review findings with management, confirming issues' validity and making tier recommendations.
  11. Collaborate with business units and compliance groups on regulatory understanding.
  12. Maintain system administrative duties in Archer.
  13. Build relationships with internal audit, legal, and other departments.
  14. Serve as a knowledge resource for team members.
  15. Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements for testing.
  16. Document and assess test scripts independently.
  17. Participate in special projects and initiatives.
  18. Multitask and meet deadlines.
  19. Adhere to company risk and regulatory standards.
  20. Identify and escalate potential risks.
  21. Maintain internal control standards and address audit points.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope:

The role reports to the Compliance Testing Manager, exercising independent judgment and collaborating extensively with various departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Education/Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years' relevant experience, or
  • 8+ years' combined education and experience, including relevant testing/auditing experience in lending sectors.
  • Proven coaching ability.
  • Ability to interpret laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant software.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of HMDA, FHA, CRA, Fair Lending, UDAP/UDAAP.
  • Certifications like CPA, CIA, CISA, CAMS, CRCM.
  • MBA or master’s degree.
  • Understanding of financial services functions.

The pay range is $71,985.72 - $119,976.20 annually, with specific compensation based on experience and location.
