Overview

Job Posting: Security Engineer - All Levels (Government Contract). Location: Remote. Clearance: Must be able to obtain Public Trust. Employment Type: Full-time.


Position Summary

Seeking Security Engineers at all levels to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Security Operations program. Positions are available from associate to senior level, with placement based on skills and experience.


Key Responsibilities


  • Implement, maintain, and improve enterprise security capabilities for compliance, detection, and incident response.

  • Monitor and analyze security events to identify, investigate, and respond to threats.

  • Support compliance activities, including scanning, documentation, remediation tracking, and required assessments.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve security issues and strengthen cloud security posture.

  • Contribute to automation initiatives and explore AI-driven capabilities to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for processes, configurations, and incident response activities.


Qualifications


  • 1-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or related technical roles (entry to senior levels considered).

  • Experience in one or more security domains: compliance, detection, incident response, or operations management.

  • Experience with cloud security in AWS and/or Azure, including federal governance and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, ARS).

  • Background in government IT environments (CMS or HHS required).

  • Experience with automation, scripting, and emerging AI applications for security operations.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, AWS Security Specialty, CISSP) preferred.


Education


  • Minimum Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
