WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

As a global company operating across multiple countries and serving customers in the financial sector, compliance is essential to all the work we do at SimCorp. As our business continues to evolve, we are further strengthening and maturing our global Compliance Framework, creating exciting opportunities to shape and influence key areas such as employee compliance, data protection, AI governance, and the prevention of criminal offences. As our new Senior Compliance Counsel, you will join our global Group Compliance team based in Warsaw. The team plays a central role in helping SimCorp maintain a strong culture of compliance by developing and overseeing our compliance framework, providing second-line compliance support, driving training and awareness initiatives, and advising stakeholders across the organization on a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to colleagues and leaders across the business, working closely with the global Compliance team and key stakeholders to further develop, enhance, and oversee SimCorp's Compliance Framework. You will provide practical, business-oriented guidance on legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements while helping ensure that compliance remains an integrated and valued part of how we operate globally. This role also offers a great opportunity to help shape your own role based on your experience and interests within compliance areas.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Support the identification, assessment, and management of compliance risks, with a particular focus on market abuse regulations.
  • Develop and maintain processes for monitoring personal trading activities and related compliance obligations.
  • Developing internal training programs, including both e-learning and face-to-face training, focused on the prevention of market abuse and insider trading.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders at all levels, providing practical guidance on complex compliance matters.
  • Develop and enhance compliance policies, standards, and procedures, and support the ongoing evaluation and improvement of compliance programs across the organization.
  • Participate in activities to regularly monitor compliance activities and mitigating measures across the organization, and assess their effectiveness.
  • Support audits, client due diligence processes, and interactions with external stakeholders.
  • Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above.

How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important.

  • Have 2-3 years of experience with Market Abuse Regulations, Insider Trading, or equivalent compliance topics – and are curious to learn about those topics, you might be less familiar with.
  • Have good analytical skills with attention to details
  • Have clear English communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Have a good understanding of compliance issues and risks, and can balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of advice
  • To perform well in this role, you should have good interpersonal skills and a sense of humor
