Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Incident Response/Technical Leadership professional in Colorado to own and drive complex incident resolution across multiple systems. You will troubleshoot across environments, perform root cause analysis, and lead blameless postmortems to drive practical improvements.

A strong foundation in systems, networking, cloud, or software development is required. You will guide teams through mitigation, coordinate specialists, and mentor peers to strengthen a culture

Qualifications

• Requires a strong technical foundation across operating systems, networking, cloud, storage, virtualization, distributed systems, or software development.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot in production or customer-facing environments.
• Demonstrates systems thinking and understanding of interactions within environments.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills for ambiguous situations.
• Experience with scripting, coding, automation, or tooling is valuable.
• Clear communication, ownership, and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a learn-it-all mindset.
• Bachelor-level technical degrees are preferred.
• Experience in technical support, systems engineering, reliability engineering, infrastructure, or software engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to resolution of complex incidents spanning systems, teams, or layers.
• Troubleshoot issues across interconnected environments to identify root causes.
• Apply structured problem-solving methods like divide-and-conquer and hypothesis testing.
• Own problems end-to-end, coordinating specialists and stakeholders through mitigation and follow-up.
• Contribute to blameless postmortems and translate lessons into improvements.
• Improve data collection, analysis, and incident response at scale with repeatable workflows.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual work via scripting, automation, and tooling.
• Serve as a technical leader and single point of ownership for complex customer issues.
• Mentor engineers and foster a solution-oriented, learning culture.
