Job summary

WCF Insurance is seeking a Complex Commercial Claims Adjuster to handle high-exposure commercial liability and auto claims from the Sandy, Utah area. The role reports to the Manager, Commercial Liability Claims and requires managing complex cases, investigations, and litigation coordination to achieve favorable outcomes.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of tort law, insurance principles, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience handling complex commercial insurance claims.
• Experience with construction liability, D&O, and E&O claims is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of tort law, insurance coverage, and litigation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex bodily injury claims, including catastrophic injuries.
• Conduct thorough investigations reviewing police reports, medical records, and witness statements.
• Assess liability, damages, and coverage to make strategic claim decisions.
• Collaborate with defense counsel in litigation management, mediations, depositions, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits balancing cost efficiency and resolution.
• Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, and involved parties.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Provide reserve recommendations based on claim developments.
• Work with underwriting, product, and legal teams on loss trends and risk factors.
• May train department staff on handling complex injury claims and litigation.
