Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County seeks an Engineer 2 to coordinate and perform activities in the development of complex plans, specifications, construction, and cost estimates for complete streets projects under the CHYM program.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, a PE license, and six years of post-degree experience, including two as a professional engineer, with a valid driver's license. Tennessee license must be obtained before probation end.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Six (6) years of post-degree engineering experience, including two (2) years as a professional engineer.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex administrative/engineering duties for complete streets projects.
• Coordinates and participates in the design and construction of complete streets projects.
• Designs, prepares, reviews, and/or revises complex plans and specifications for complete streets projects.
• Oversees and performs project feasibility studies.
• Coordinates and reviews data and cost estimates for project bids.
• Interprets regulations affecting complete streets projects.
• Oversees federal grant applications and administration for projects.
• Coordinates on-site inspections and reviews final as-built plans.
