Job summary

Nationwide Financial is seeking a data-driven analyst for competitive intelligence in Columbus, OH. You will retrieve and manipulate data, ensure accuracy, and act as the subject-matter expert for intelligence tools and reports while collaborating with executives.

A strong foundation in math, statistics, and data analysis is required. Ideal candidates have 8–10 years of relevant experience and may hold SAS or related certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science, business, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, MIS or related field with quantitative orientation preferred.
• SAS certification or similar is a plus; insurance designations are a plus.
• Eight to ten years of experience in a business unit or related mix of experience/education.
• Strong knowledge of mathematics, statistics and probability principles; demonstrated analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves and manipulates data with accuracy for competitive intelligence.
• Updates and validates complex coding in applications and vendor software.
• Conducts analyses, develops recommendations, and investigates hypotheses with data-driven approaches.
• Leads or participates in interdisciplinary teams and special assignments.
• Communicates findings to partners and trains users on tools and processes.
