Job summary

OpenAI is hiring a Compensation Operations Analyst in San Francisco to build and run systems powering compensation. The role is highly operational and technical, involving HRIS configuration, end-to-end compensation tooling, and ensuring data quality.

You will collaborate with People Systems, Total Rewards, Finance, and vendors to maintain accurate and scalable compensation infrastructure. The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid model (3 days in office per week) and relocation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in compensation operations, HR operations or total rewards tooling.
• Strong HRIS configuration experience, especially with compensation planning modules.
• Workday and Pave experience preferred.
• Ability to manage data quality, audits, and scalable processes.

Responsibilities

• Own configuration and day-to-day operations of compensation tools and HRIS compensation modules.
• Manage annual and off-cycle compensation processes, ensuring data integrity and on-time execution.
• Build and maintain compensation datasets, dashboards, audits, and data flows across systems.
• Lead compensation vendor relationships, including implementation and data submissions.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues and drive automation improvements.
• Partner with People Systems and Engineering to enhance architecture and workflows.
