Job Summary

The Senior Compensation Consultant reports to the Executive Director of Total Rewards and supports over 30,000 Care Team Members across South Carolina. The role executes key compensation priorities to attract, retain, and motivate staff across the health system. The consultant partners with Human Resources Business Partners and managers to provide feedback on compensation strategy, design, implementation, and administration in job analysis, job evaluation, base pay, variable pay, market pricing, and pay for performance, aligning to MUSC’s compensation philosophy. The position serves as a subject matter expert on compensation products and delivers innovative solutions that support customer and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute key compensation priorities at MUSC to attract, retain, and motivate care team members.
  • Partner with HRBP and managers to provide feedback on compensation strategy, design, implementation, and administration in job analysis, job evaluation, base pay, variable pay, market pricing, and pay for performance.
  • Align compensation initiatives with MUSC’s compensation philosophy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on compensation products and deliver innovative solutions that support customer and organizational needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of work experience in compensation, employment/recruitment, HRIS, or financial/data analysis.
  • Previous work experience in administering compensation programs (preferred).
  • Work experience in a similarly large and complex organization (preferred).
  • Excellent analytical skills, applications, and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, and ability to influence others without formal authority.
  • Ability to manipulate data in Excel spreadsheets and use critical thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) through WorldatWork (preferred).
